By now I'm sure everyone has seen the major screw up in the final award given during last night's Academy Awards show. For those that haven't, kindly see the highlights enclosed.
This is an example of what can go wrong on live TV. Clearly, Warren Beatty was given the wrong envelope and didn't know what to do, so he threw Faye Dunaway under the bus and let her make the horrible mistake. Somewhere, Steve Harvey was thanking God that somebody else made the same mistake he made a few years earlier.
Was it the worst thing ever seen or done on live TV? Not even close. I saw Pennsylvania State Treasurer R. Budd Dwyer kill himself on live TV. NOTHING will ever top that...however, it did get me to thinking. What if other people unknowingly read the wrong card?
Maybe, just MAYBE...Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have been reading the wrong cards when it comes to the Browns draft picks since 1999. Maybe Bud Selig was supposed to read Matt Weiters name as the Pirates 1st round pick in the 2007 MLB Draft.
A fella can dream...
