Buckeyes Retain Running Backs Coach And Hire New Secondary Coach

Head coach Ryan Day's 2019 coaching staff is continuing to take shape with two more additions announced yesterday.

First, the program said current running back coach Tony Alford would remain in the position he has had for the past four seasons, where he has helped to develop players like Ezekiel Elliot, Mike Weber, and J.K. Dobbins.

Ohio State is also adding former Maryland assistant Matt Barnes as the Bucks new special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach.

Barnes has also coached at Michigan under Jim Harbaugh and now becomes the third former Wolverine assistant to join Day's staff this month.
