Indians Acquire Catcher Sandy Leon From Boston

Following a slow start to the offseason, the Cleveland Indians are making some moves with the acquisition of catcher Sandy Leon from Boston.

Cleveland used Monday's non-tender deadline to trade and then sign Leon to a one-year two-million dollar deal, which means the team will say goodbye to catcher Kevin Plawecki.

The Red Sox received minor league right-hander Adenys Bautista in return for Leon.

The Tribe also offered contracts yesterday to Francisco Lindor, Nick Wittgren, Mike Clevinger, and Tyler Naquin who are all eligible for arbitration.
