Maurkice Pouncey Fed Up With Le’Veon, Calls Holdout “Selfish”

Yesterday we told you that Steelers team captain Maurkice Pouncey expected holdout Le’Veon Bell to be in uniform yesterday.

Today we’re telling you he is pissed—hey, his words, not mine. At least the words of his I can actually say on air.

“Honestly, it’s a little selfish,” Pouncey said after practice yesterday. “I’m kind of pissed right now. It sucks that he’s not here. We’ll move on as a team. It doesn’t look like he’ll be in the game plan at this point [for Sunday against Cleveland]. [James] Conner looks great. We’ll worry about [Bell] in Week 2.”

And really, it may be more like Week 10 as Bell can basically stay away through that week and still become a free agent in 2019.

And that’s apparently fine with Pouncey as he suggests Bell do just that.

“We just finally accept things at some point and you’re like, ‘All right, if you don’t want to be here, it is what it is. Hold out for 10 weeks,” Pouncey said.

And it isn’t just Pouncey who’s upset, as fellow offensive lineman Ramon Foster said, “Here’s a guy who doesn’t give a damn,” while another says “We’re stuck with our foot in our mouth. We all thought he’d be here.”

You can keep thinking that but it looks like Number 26 is looking out for number one.
