Terrell Owens: I Hope the Door Hits Jason Garrett on the Way Out

Terrell Owens Wants Garrett Out

On today’s edition of The Odd Couple, Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens joins Chris Broussard and Rob Parker to discuss the Cowboys disappointing season. Owens says his main problem when he was released from the Cowboys was Jason Garrett, citing Garrett’s coaching and leadership has always been questionable. Owens goes on to say that he has no good parting words for Jason Garrett, and that he hopes Jerry Jones boots him out of Dallas in the next couple days. Plus, the guys ask Terrell Owens about not making the NFL 100 team, and Owens goes on to say the voters are a joke and they left him off the list to ‘stick it to him’ for not showing up for Hall of Fame ceremony.

Terrell Owens: "There are some changes that they need to make, but the common denominator since I left in 2009 has been Jason Garrett. You think about the talent that’s on that roster, and anytime that I’ve talked about the Dallas Cowboys I haven’t criticized any of the players, and although those guys need to make plays, you only take on the heartbeat of your head coach. I’ve seen the highlights. You have guys walking by Jason Garrett; they don’t respect him. They understand that he’s not putting the players in the best position to play and the best position for those guys to be successful. Just from the standpoint that I mentioned a few minutes ago, you don’t have Amari Cooper on the football field on 4th-and-9 – that’s one of your top players – because of your assessment? Dude, this is not high school, this is not college. You don’t just bench a guy because a guy is playing poorly. If that’s the case, then Jerry needs to assess him, and take that same assessment with his coaching, and get him up out of there. I’m really hoping that’s what happens here in the next couple of days. I have no good parting words for Jason Garrett. I hope Jerry boots him up out of there, and lets the door hit him where the good Lord split him."
